Katie, Ryan and I went down to Panama City/Seagrove for the Labor Day weekend to stay with my mom ('Mimi'), sister ('Antie') and her boyfriend, Nick. Got down there pretty late on Friday, since I had to work, but it gave us 2 whole days at the beach. It was really pretty nice, we stayed in a 3bed/3bath condo about 5-10 minutes walk from the beach that was really really nice - everyone pretty much had their own space, though Ryan pretty much needs his own room since he won't sleep in a room with anyone, so he got to sleep in the bunk beds in one room (with his new bedrails), and he seemed to really enjoy that. Mom and Amanda are beach bums, so Katie was in good company and got to do what she really likes when at the beach -- sitting on the beach all day. We went down in the morning on Saturday, stayed until Ryan's naptime, had lunch and then put him down. Ate at Boon Docks for dinner on Saturday. Bonn Docks is a local seafood hole in the wall, that happens to be on the water under the bridge into the PCB area. The food was really excellent, and not too expensive, compared to eating at Red Lobster or something...

Sunday we spent the morning at the pool, then went down to the beach for a few hours, and then came back for naptime. Went to Margaritaville for dinner, which we decided we needed to do, since we avoid the crows there like the plague when we go to Myrtle Beach (there's no restaurant I want to eat at bad enough to wait 2-3 hours to eat at), but the wait was only quoted at an hour on Sunday, so we waited it out by giving Jimmy some money in the gift shop. The food was actually really good, and not too expensive, which I was surprised about. Evidently before the playing of 'Margaritaville' or at the end of 'Jamaica Mistaka' , not sure which - they fire cannons, and have a pirate and his wenches (on stilts) come out to lead the diners in the singing of Margaritaville. Fun, sure. The cannons combined with really tall people scared the crap out of Ryan, and he required sitting in my lap for the duration of dinner. To make things better (before they got worse, then better again) the tall pirate-man came over making balloon animals. He talked to Ryan and made him a monkey. During dinner, the monkey spontaneously popped - which sent tears of distress/surprise ringing out across the restaurant, fortunately Pirate man came running back to make a new orange puppy dog for Ryan. He carried that puppy around ALL NIGHT, "Orange paa-paa". Even wanted to sleep with it... After dinner it started to storm, which killed our chances for a night walk on the beach, but we still had a good time; we just went home so Ryan could play with Mimi.

We all had an awesome weekend, Ryan really enjoyed having all the attention from Antie Amanda, Nick ('Nyuck') and his Mimi.

Though -- we didn't consider the commute home... It took ~7 hour to get down there, which is normal... But it took over 11 hours to get home!
Evidently, since checkout time is 11am everywhere, and tehre are really only 2 ways out of PCB, and neither of them are 11 lanes of expressway, traffic was retarded. It took us about 2 hours to get the 17 miles out of PCB out to Defuniak Springs and the highway. Then we got to hit bumper to bumper in every damn town we hit on the way home. We bailed from the expressway in Newnan and took backroads back to our house, and got home a little after 11 last night. Mom and Amanda left a couple of hours later, and got home around the same time as us. So the key is either to leave BEFORE 9am, or after 2pm, or you'll be in crazy retarded traffic...

It's about 7 weeks since we started SBD, and it's been about 3 weeks since we've full-on fallen off the wagon - but we intend to get back on after 4th of July weekend.

Good news:I'm still at about 220lbs, which means I'm still down 9 from when I started, and means I haven't actually gained any weight back since the MB Vacation...   So hopefully I'll be in good position to start back.

We're headed up to Dad's for the weekend, my aunt, uncle, sister and some of our cousins will be there to celebrate the weekend, and will be back at the end of the weekend.  We returned the portable DVD player we bought prior to the MB trip because it choked badly on DVD's after about 2 hours of running, so we got a new one tonight.   It's an RCA, so maybe it'll work better, but it doesn't play DIVX, so I'm having to get DVD copies of the movies we have on BluRay.

Sims3 is addicting, if I haven't already said that...

Oh yea - and I recant my Gripe about Seagate's RMA cost.   it's actually 'free' to ship my HD back to them and have them replace it at a snail pace shipping (so >2 weeks with shipping both ways) - cost to me ~$10 for shipping to them.  OR, you can pay the $15, ship to them first, and they'll 2-day ship it back - Cost ~$25 and it'll take about a week to get it back.   OR you can pay them $20, and they'll ADVANCE ship a replacement via 2-day, AND send a prepaid return label - Cost $20 and I get the replacement in 2 days.   It's kind of a no brainer.

I got my advanced RMA today, and it only took about 4 hours for the array to rebuild into OK status.   I'm pretty astounded, I figured it'd take a day to repair.

Back from Myrtle Beach on Sunday night around 8pm.   Its funny how you're exhausted after vacation - but we had a really good time.
A couple Quick statistics:
Number of days/nights in MB: 5/6 (in at Dinnertime on Monday, left after lunch on Sunday)
Number of trips to Friendly's: 5 (3 meals trips (with ice cream) and 2 dedicated ice cream trips) - we had Ben and Jerry's one night.

Yes, we got Ryan his Conehead sunday on Monday night after dinner, and then we had dinner there with Brian and Amanda and her whole family on Wednesday after B&A arrived in town.   Ryan got the Monster Mash (is that right?) that night.   Lots of assorted ice cream scattered throughout the week.

Took Ryan to Ripley's Aquiarium on Friday - he's still too little to REALLY appreciate it - but he got a huge thrill out of the reef tank where all the fish from Finding Nemo reside.   He saw the clownfish and said "Nemo!", then we picked out Dory, Deb, Gill and Bubbles (I had to resort to asking for some help with some of the names from some little girls that were also talking about Nemo near that tank), but Ryan did get a huge kick out of seeing all the fish "Fish, Star!, Where's Nemo?".   He wouldn't let us carry him, he just got angry and frustrated, and got super freaked out getting too close to the tank glass, but it was a fun time either way.   Expensive, but it was worth it I think.   We went with Brian and Amanda, and her nephew Will, who's 8 or 9.   I think it was neat for him, he seemed to have a good time.   Ate Tony Roma's @ Broadway on the Beach that night since we were over there - yummy.   Hung out @ BotB and walked around after dinner, got Ben and Jerry's, watched them make fudge, bought fudge, and then left.

Only got to eat Seafood one night, but we went to one of the popular all you can eat deals that had lots of fresh stuff.   Katie ate Snow Crab legs for the first time (I think she got our money's worth out of those alone :) ) - and I ate Fried Frogs Legs for the first time.

Frog legs...   The cliche is that is tastes like chicken.   And -- well, I really can't think of anything else to compare the taste to, but the texture and tastes are very similar.   Katie wouldn't try it, and wouldn't let me let Ryan try it.   he wasn't happy eating anything but peas anyway - good thing his buffet was free.

We spent a fair amount of time on the beach and at the pools.   Ryan LOVES the beach and the ocean, as long as he's not getting splashed, or being pulled off his feet by the receding waves.   He's good with standing at the waves edge, and he's good with wading in a little, but the waves were rouch, and splashed a lot - so, that kept him out of the water mostly.

We taught him to make stuff in the sand, but mostly he just wanted to fill buckets with sand and dump the water around our site.   But - he had a really good time.

We need to take him swimming more though, he really had a good time at the pool, and even more in the kiddie pools since he could walk around and visit the other kids.   he's NOT a fan of all the splashing sprinklers and waterfall mushrooms that were in some of the pools, (it's just splashing water again - he doesn't like it unless HE'S the one doing the splashing) so we were limited to just a couple of the kiddie pools at the resort.

Being at the beach with a toddler is kinda rough.   You want to spend more time outside or at the beach, but naptimes in the middle of the day put a damper on that.   Course, it didn't help that we kept him up until 10 or 11 each night, which consequently lead to us sleeping in til at least 9 each day (and then an hour of beach prep to put sunscreen on us and him before going out - coupled with breakfast) meant that we didn't actually get to the beach or the pool or whatever until around 11.   Naptime at 1 or 2 - then dinner afterwards.    Hopefully next year we won't be napping quite so much, and can be a little more flexible so we can spend more time outdoors.

We bought Scrabble to play while we had downtime, and sofar, I have yet to beat Katie at all.   I got close once, but still lost by about 30 points.

We officially confused Ryan's vocabulary too.   He can say "Beach" like a pro -- it's definitely the clearest word he can say - not to insinuate that other words aren't clear, but it's got a couple of harder sounds together that he hadn't done before.   So - when we got there, we tried to teach him what the Beach was - so, we can point outside and say "What's that?" and he'll say "Pool!" or "Beach!" -- it took a little while to teach him the difference, but we managed.   little did we know that while he was identifying the object "Pool" as a pool, he was equating "Beach" with what we refer to as "outside".   We didn't realize this until we got home, and he stands in the back door saying "Go Beach" and pointing into the backyard...   Cute.

We pretty much threw the diet out the window.   Full on caffeine sodas, and a terrible diet of fried food and ice cream.
Weigh In on Monday morning: 221.  So, between Sioux Falls and Myrtle Beach, I gained 6 lbs back.   probably not as bad as it could be, but I definitely need to get back on track.

Oh, and Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback were yummy (too bad that the production cycle was only 3 months, and I didn't find out about it until the last week - it made it hard to locate them in stores).   It's amazing the difference that REAL sugar makes in a soda, vs HFCS.   It just doesn't leave that fuzzy taste behind.    It's back to No caffeine diet sodas now that I'm home though.

Back from Sioux Falls on Friday night -- my flight landed right before 10pm, so I didn't get home until nearly midnight.   Trip was good, ate a lot of good food, and hung out with the people that we work with on a daily basis, but never see.  It was productive, and well worth the trip to get accomplished in 3 days, what it would have taken several weeks of 1 hour conference calls to get done.
Hilights of the week were: "slick track" go-karting on Tuesday morning (1 free ride per person, compliments of the boss) -- most of the department went.   It's exactly what it sounds like, slick tires on a slick track - and the department have been doing this regularly for years, once or a few times a year - so they're gotten to be a ruthless crew.   It was a ton of fun, I ended up taking two head-on collisions, and got pretty good at offensive driving/bumping.   James spent the majority of the time with his car backwards on the track.   He said the car wouldn't turn properly.

The "Sioux Falls" is a pretty small waterfall, where they have a history lesson laser-show nightly.   It was interesting, history of the discovery and founding of the town, lewis and clark, etc.   Probably wouldn't do it again, but it was interesting once.

Back at home:
I gained 4 lbs in SF last week, mostly because I was weak at following my diet, when we were eating Italian, and Steak houses, and the like all the time.
We've been working with Ryan on taking charge of his routines.  Specifically, we've got his toothbrushing routine down.   He goes into the bathroom, climbs his steps, turns on the light and gets the toothbrush (we put on the toothpaste, and do the real brushing) - he 'brushes', rinses, and puts away the brush, and then dries his hands and turns off the light.    It's so neat to watch him learn stuff.

While I was gone, he learned lots of new words, including "Beach", which he told me about on the phone one night.   Cute!   "Where are we going next week?" -- "to the Beach!".

We actually got to MB today at about 5pm, after a slightly later start than we wanted (at 9am), but we still did ok for time.   The portable DVD player helped, but he still didn't really have attention for more than one or one and a half movies.

We got in just in time for dinner - so, of course, we went to Friendly's, and Ryan got his Cone Head Sunday.   First the eyes and nose, then the cherry, then ice cream and the cone.   He was a mess, but he loved it.

We're all set, and ready for a fun week!

We've made our reservations for our summer vacation. Katie, Ryan and I will be spending a week in Myrtle Beach during the second week of June. Brian and Amanda will be coming up mid-week and staying the last half of the week. So, after an annoying first call to the hotel's reservation department where the woman kept insisting that if I changed rooms mid week I'd have to take all my stuff out of the hotel for 5 hours between check out and check in times, so therefore kept trying to sell me other rooms that I could keep for the week. I appreciate trying to save me money, but when I say "I want THIS suite for the last half of the week" - don't tell me "This other one's about the same for cheaper"... Especially when it's NOTHING like the one I wanted... Grr.
Fortunately, she hung up on my after I put her on hold for 10 minutes while conferring with other party members. The next lady I got there was very helpful, and got me exactly what I wanted for a few bucks less than expected, AND set it up so that I can stay in the small room until the bigger room is clean and move in ready!

So - beach, here we come!

On another note, we made sure there wasn't any "Bike Week" events there that week, since we've been caught in bike weeks the last couple of times we've gone to Fla or Myrtle Beach.  We just have a knack for picking those weeks.    But, we found that South Carolina is no longer biker rally friendly.   They've instituted this year new laws governing loud pipes, there's a new helmet law, and laws prohibiting partying in parking lots and parking garages.   Bike Week was scheduled to be there last week, with Black Bike Week going to be there the week of May 25.  Wondering how all that worked out, but it's nice to know that we shouldn't have to worry about earth-shaking motercycles rolling up and down the street at all hours of the morning while our baby's trying to sleep....

So we're home now -- "vacation" is over, but I still don't have to go back to work until Tuesday.
Most of vacation was awesome, with a few speedbumps -- I'm ultimately glad we're home now, instead of still in the middle of Black Bike Week.

On an extremely depressing note:
This ultimately killed the whole mood on the way home - this is all over the national news too, so I'm sure you saw it:
Just a couple of links, it's on dozens of news sites -

Child, 2, dies after crash at Georgia McDonald’s
3 Kids, 2 Adults Run Over Outside Ga. McDonald's
Toddler Struck by Car in McDonald's Lot Dies; Driver Faces More Charges

We hadn't heard about any of this while we were in Myrtle Beach...   On the way home, I had to make a pit stop -- and just happened to stop in at this McDonalds in Covington....
We were ordering food, and noticed this sign on a bucket at the register "Donations for the victims of Tuesday's accident at this location".   Us being ignorant, were making laughing and thinking that it must have been a stupid teenager that blew up a frier or something...   But Brian went ahead and asked...   I don't know that we really wanted to know....
While we were eating, there was a guy at a table near ours that started talking to us -- or at us -- or at whoever was nearby and might hear him...   As he recounted all the gristly details of how he was also there on Tuesday -- waiting to pick up his wife who worked there.   He was outside smoking, and all of a sudden a green honda came tearing into the parking lot, and smashed into these 5 people -- one pregnant lady (all the news I've read left this detail out sofar), her 2 year old daughter, and another lady with 2 kids.
Then, as he looked around smiling at the people that were yelling at him, he backed over them, and then over them forwards again, slamming into the side of the McDonalds.

I'll spare the rest of the absolutely gory details he gave us -- I'm glad I wasn't eating, is all I can say.

This poor guy -- he had to have been in his 40's - must have been in shock, or on some kind of mood modifying drug; he was quite spacy...   He also noted another detail that was missing from the news reports:

The man had 2 guns in his front seat -- they believe his intent was NOT to run over people, but to drive into the McDonalds and shoot the place up -- it was, after all, 1pm and the place was packed.   This man's wife was working inside, and he was just a pain of glass away, being outside...

How must that fuck with your mind?   I saw 5 people get hit by a car, one died and 2 more are kids going into ICU...   Or -- If they hadn't been there, would my wife and I have been shot to death by this guy?

Fortunately, since the restraunt was packed, there are about 50 firsthand eye-witnesses to the crime, so there isn't any expectation that the guy will get away with it...

Of all the places to stop to pee.

Tried to post this last night via the blackberry, but it didn't work.

----

Diet this week went to poop. Lots of doughnuts, bacon, eggs, ice cream, daiqueris, pina coladas, rum and coke, Mideval times... I am not allowed to eat when we get home.

On the current front:
This is sorta rambley, because its late but I can't sleep.

Well, we knew that we were here at the end of "bike week", where the bikers from all over come together to ...have fun? in Myrtle Beach... The thunder of Hogs and flashes of chrome everywhere you look. Though it ended this Tuesday, MOST bikers left town on sunday... Maybe this is why?
This morning more bikes came into town -- Not white guys and biker chicks on Harleys... This time its BLACK bike week -- black men and women amount their crotch rockets. Amazing. It's a little after midnight here now, and all you can see/hear outside are the crotch rockets racing up and down the street, and the cheers of the packs of black people starting to line the streets.

I'm really glad we came when we did -- calm end of Bike Week, and I'm REALLY glad were leaving today, the beginning of black bike week.

I'm not usually racist -- but I get fairly nervous in amongst a bunch of big black rowdy, possibly intoxicated, guys on motercycles lining the street in front of my hotel, and even moreso when they're on the hallway balcony that we share, in front of my door -- starting the party.

Subs are thumpin, people are yelling, tires are racing -- if tonight is this bad, its a good thing were leaving on Thursday.

I'm sure White BW was pretty scary too, but I'm told that BBW usually draws much bigger crowds.

Now, when did equality and all that start to warrant that black people needed their own holiday? BW has been open to all for years, yet black people decided that they needed their OWN bike week... Interesting.

Of other note -- I fount it interesting that WBW bikers were riding harleys at about a 10:1 ratio over crotch rockets, yet BBW its in favor of the rockets about 100:1.

Its day 2 at the beech. It was a bit chilly today, and cloudy. Hopefully it'll be warmer tomorrow.

Made daqueris and pina coladas today, and did some lounging at the pool and the beech. Katie made good spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

Gonna try to get to Mideval times tomorrow.

Have I mentioned that vacation rocks?

3/4

  • 12:00 - Left home.
  • 22:00 - Red glow near Roanoke?
  • 23:00 pm - Decided it was time to end day one.
Stayed at the Sleep Inn in Winchester, VA.   Nothing special, it was the cheapest place that didn't look ghetto.  Bed was comfortable, and it had a nice shower.  The decor was not terribly desirable, but it wasn't horrible.  Turned out that the hotel had free WiFi, so that was a nice perk.

Free Bagels and juice in the morning, yay!

No sign of snow yet...

3/5

  • Weather - clear, no snow.
  • 8:30 - Checked out
  • While driving through Pennsylvania, we've started to notice snow remnants in the shadows...

  • 13:00 - Lots of ice in the shadows, and snow buildups all over the place, still melting from the last snow.   Temp's ~45F, and still clear.
  • 13:30 - New Jersey fuel fill up -- full service...   I can’t remember the last time I saw a full service gas station – however, it looks like NJ is full service ONLY.
  • Interchanges in NJ suck - for whatever reason, they make no sense - I swear, I got off to get gas, and the road runs figure 8's to get on and off the freeway -- be careful, you can't tell where people might come from...
  • NJ doesn't believe in fast food evidently (or restaurants in general).   After getting gas, we decided to start looking for food.   None of the exits advertised any food.   Occasionally there was a McDonalds, Dunkin Doughnuts, or Starbucks -- but that was it.   Even on the exit with a Hospital -- nothing.   University -- there was a Starbucks, but nothing else...   For miles and miles - nothing.
  • Finally, a sign had Burger King on it - we took the exit (another screwed up interchange that started us in the wrong direction).   Once righted, we had to travel probably 5 miles on back roads to get to a little shopping area.   The BK was in a shopping center, that I swear all the entrances said "Do Not Enter".   I think Katie was ready to kill me by the time I finally got there; I was PO'd at New Jersey...   Bad Roads, Full Service Gas, Stupid Interchanges, and no food...

  • While we are not going to be too far from NYC, I was able to convince Katie to let us stop to see Ground Zero.   It's been maybe 10 years since I was in NYC last - and I haven’t been able to go back til now.   I didn't really care about spending time in the city - just see GZ and then wander around a bit and then take off.
  • 14:30 - Arrived NYC - I-95 comes in across the George Washington Bridge ($6 toll), and then down 9A which runs down the island to the south tip.
  • Along 9A we saw:
    • The red light district (Hustler Club, some other strip clubs, some porn shops, etc) -- kinda funny that all that stuff is on the highway running down the river.
    • Some cruise ship docked in port.
    • An aircraft carrier with lots of old planes on it -- I presume this is a tourist attraction; should look this up.
    • Of Note: - SR-71 Blackbird, and the Concorde.
  • When we got to the south end, we could see GZ on the left, but somehow we got screwed up and ended up in the Battery Tunnel ($4.50 toll) that leads to Brooklyn.
  • I don't think I've ever driven through Brooklyn -- it's a fairly neat part of the city.   Along this highway (Queens-Brooklyn Hwy) we were passed by a Red Ferrari F-50 -- what a noise that beast makes.
  • So -- we turned around, and headed back to Manhattan...   $4.50 again...

  • 15:40 – $9.00 in “oops” tolls later -- Parked in NYC near GZ
  • Went to GZ site and looked around...   It's amazing -- I can still remember what that place looked like the last time I was there.   I went to the top and looked straight down the side at the very spot where I was standing...   Now staring at massive holes in the ground.   My camera battery was dead, so we stopped in one of those hole in the wall newsstands.   New York's a funny place.   The store was smaller than my laundry room at home.
  • Went back and took some pictures, read the signs that are all over the site talking about what happened, future plans for the site, and all the names of the people that died on 9/11.   I should have taken pictures of the signs that said (loosely)"Please help us preserve this site as a special place by not buying merchandise from street vendors here" With the Asian lady right below it selling photo albums of 9/11, and pre-9/11, WTC postcards.
  • Walked around a few blocks taking in the scenery, being that it was cold, and we were only there to see GZ, we headed out after about an hour or so.
  • JA on PB.
  • 16:45 - Paid out of the garage - $14 for 1 hour.  Goodness.
  • 20:00 - Dinner at Friendlys (Location #1 – I won’t be noting the physical names, I don’t know where they are anyway) - probably will be seeing a lot of Friendlys' while we're up here.
  • 21:00 - Checked in to the Marriott Springfield, MA.
  • The hotel is really nice -- but it's a full service Marriott, so they charge you for EVERYTHING.   The rate we got was a steal for this hotel, $60/ni -- the room we're staying in goes for 160/ni right now.   The bed is REALLY nice - goose down comforter/pillows, soft sheets, etc.
  • Internet=9.95/day; not sure if I want to pay that or go without.   I'll go without for now - still have 5 days.
  • Room service -- I don't know that I've ever stayed at a hotel with room service...  But, I don't think I'll be ordering any this week.
  • Our room's on the 9th floor - we can see into a rooftop park out our window - looks to be some snow out there, but the weather's still clear.
  • It's ass-cold outside here in Mass.

3/6

  • 08:00 - Woke up to a pleasant wake up call -- the recording told me about the weather forecast for the day -- mild, cool, and clear - high of 45F.
  • 19:45 - Left the room around 10 and headed over to Friendlys (Location #2) for Breakfast.
  • 11:00 - Arrived @ Grandma's.  We sat around and talked all day...   Katie's Aunt Carol came over -- she was a lifesaver.   Katie's grandparents are in their 80's and 90's, and don't hear well - so they don't communicate well, and get frustrated easy.   Carol is 70, funny, hears well, and is a blast to be around.   She was ripping jokes about her sister and brother in law all the time - usually with the "They're so deaf they can't hear me" clause after it.   I don’t' think they ever did either.

  • 17:00 - 5pm – It’s dinner time, after all...   They wanted to take us to dinner, so they forced Carol to go with us (which I didn't mind, but I think she was tired of them by that time, and wanted to go home) -- In lieu of letting Grandma and Grandpa pick a horrible old-people food place, Carol made them take us to Friendlys (Location #3).  It's OK, we like Friendlys.   At the end of the meal, I think Grandpa had p00p - he started getting grumpy about us getting the check and getting out of there; so we didn’t' get any ice cream.

  • 18:30 - Took them home at 6:30, and we decided that when they started watching Wheel of Fortune, we were going to split.

  • After we left, we decided to go get the ice cream we didn't get earlier.   Off to Friendlys (Location #4)...   Got our ice cream, hung out for about 30 minutes, and then headed back to the hotel.

3/7

  • 8:00 - It was 33F this morning – Wake up call said high would be 40.
  • 11:00 - Met Grandma and Grandpa at their house – went to get Subway for lunch.
  • 12:35 – Lunch over, Katie and I took a walk through the park; played on the whirly gig , and wasted time for an hour.
  • 15:00 - We went to visit Uncle George and Aunt Mary Jane; they took us out to dinner.  – nice folks.

3/8

  • Slept in today – didn’t get up til around 10.   The weather’s getting a little warmer today – it’s up over 40 or maybe 50?
  • Met Cousin Lynne at a little after noon, and went over to see her house.   She has a nice little house – about the size of ours.
  • Went and picked up some lunch at “Wings” – guess what they serve…
  • Then headed with Lynne over to her parents’ house – Aunt Evie and Uncle Terry.   I havn’t seen them since our wedding; but we stayed at their house when their son Charles got married a few years ago – so I’ve met them a few times.   They’re fun to hang out with.
  • We visited with them til about 10, and then headed back to the hotel.
  • Tomorrow we’ll meet up with Lynne again, and then go back to T&E’s house where we’ll meet up with Charles and his new baby son.  Tomorrow will be our last day up here, before we head down to Tennessee to visit Dad.
